The final Dudnance Lane Implementation Plan (DLIP) is now available for download. This document will now be submitted to Kerrier District Council to be approved as a material consideration in the determination of any future planning applications.

Two major consultation exercises have been carried out to inform DLIP. The first - which asked the public to comment on three different options - was completed on 10th August 2007. The second consulted on the preferred masterplan for the site, and closed on 9th October 2007. Comments from both consultations have been used to shape the final document and CPR Regeneration would like to thank all those who submitted comments.

The final scheme focuses on the development of a major leisure, health and sports "village" on the West side of Dudnance Lane. In addition there is a small amount of housing adjacent to Tuckingmill and new business development along Dudnance Lane. These developments are supported by a strategic car park, residential, hotel and commercial leisure proposals on the East side adjacent to the proposed Heartlands Park. The masterplan includes the rebuilding of an extended Carn Brea Leisure Centre on the site with additional private sector leisure units which will focus around a new open space. The creation of a new landscape for leisure and recreation and better public access to existing areas around the Red River Valley are key features of the plan.

These proposals will allow access to and retention of the New Cooks Kitchen headgear and key shafts as part of any future development of commercial mining operations around the Tuckingmill Decline at the southern end of the site.
