Draft plans for two outline planning applications on Trevenson Road were prepared for a three week pre-application public consultation. This period has now ended and work is being undertaken to amend the plans where necessary and to prepare the important environmental statements that will accompany them. The draft plans can still be downloaded from this page but these will be replaced in the future by the final versions for the planning application. This will be submitted towards the end of July and a formal consultation will be undertaken by Kerrier District Council as part of the application process.
Trevenson Gateway
As the name suggests, Trevenson Gateway will create a new impression at the important point of arrival into Pool. This project will be grouped around the proposed East Hill Junction improvement scheme and the new dual carriageway that will connect it to the A30. It will include a quality landmark hotel (up to 7,200sqm) overlooking Tuckingmill Valley Park and new office buildings (4,400sqm) on the new junction. In addition, a small residential block of 15 flats will complete the line of houses on East Hill.
Trevenson Park North
This project covers the land around the old Camborne School of Mines, between the College campus and Pool village centre. It will form an extension to the residential area of Pool with approximately 75 family two storey terraced houses. On the college side of the site it will also include about 60 flats and 200 student residences. The special features of the development will be focused on the landscape, creating a major public park (Trevenson Park), a smaller quieter park in the heart of the residential area and a significant green route running through the centre that will link Trevenson Church to the Heartlands project and eventually the shopping area further to the south. This route will feature an innovative Sustainable Urban Drainage System. Other connections will include a route aligned with Moorfield Road and the Pool residential areas, including a new light controlled passenger crossing on Church Road. The scheme will also include an office unit of (1,440sqm) which can become grow-on space for the proposed Pool Innovation Centre.
