CPR Drainage Implementation Strategy Front Cover

Halcrow was commissioned by the South West Regional Development Agency and CPR Regeneration in April 2008 to set out an action plan to implement the Surface Water Management Plan for Camborne, Pool and Redruth.

The Surface Water Management Plan details several underlying principles for the future surface water drainage within the CPR area. Future drainage should seek to:

• Ensure no additional flood risk from the surface water system
• Surface water should stay on the surface
• Reduce surface water input to the combined sewerage system
• Minimise infiltration to groundwaters
• Maximise potential for environmental benefit/enhancement

Future development should, wherever practical, seek to meet these principles and where not considered practical, should justify why an alternative approach has been adopted.

The full Halcrow report covers both a review of the Surface Water Management Plan and highlights what needs to be done next to put into practice the proposals based on current legislation and best practice guidance.
