Work started on the £3.5 million Barncoose Link Road in early 2007. The project - which was led by Kerrier District Council in partnership with CPR Regeneration and Cornwall County Council - delivered a new section of road to link Barncoose Industrial Estate with the A3047. The funding for the project was provided by Department for Transport, South West Regional Development Agency and Objective One.

Even prior to construction, the plans proved to be a catalyst to development at Barncoose with several projects being delivered. Midas Developments completed its Carn Brea Business Park scheme delivering over 5,000sqm of new quality industrial space. The NHS Cornwall Food Project, also benefited from Objective One funding, and created a new 1,000sqm facility.
