The Vocational Routeways project is funded by the Skills Funding Agency and European Social Fund (EU Convergence funding) and delivered by Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change. The project runs from June 2008 to December 2010 and covers the whole of Cornwall.
Vocational Routeways provides a package of training to workless clients to help them become ready for work. This includes advice on writing CVs, confidence building and interview techniques. The Vocational Routeways delivered through this project are usually sector focused in order to meet the demands of a specific sector such as care, hospitality, etc. Employers from the targeted sectors are encouraged to take part and provide an employer's perspective for the routeway and also help with mock interviews for the trainees.
CPR Regeneration identifies and encourages businesses and employers to take part in the routeways, such as by spending half a day providing an overview of their sector. If the trainees are ready for employment, and the business has current vacancies, it is hoped that matching the employer with those on the course will result in a job outcome.
