Camborne residents and businesses are being invited by English Partnerships, the national regeneration agency, to have their say about proposals to develop the Trevenson Road Implementation Plan.
The opportunity to comment on proposals will be during a public exhibition to be held at the Berlewen Building in Trevenson Road, on Friday 9th May 4:30pm-8:30pm and Saturday 10th May 10:00am-4:00pm.
The exhibition and consultation are in advance of a planning application to be submitted to Kerrier District Council. The exhibit will contain full details of proposed land uses, outline development proposals, open space, car parking areas, road layout and access points, including a new pedestrian crossing for Church Road,
Visitors to the exhibition will be invited to comment on the two key development sites which make up the Trevenson Road Implementation Plan.
These are:
· Trevenson Gateway: a mixed use development including offices, hotel and apartments on land at the junction of Trevenson Road and Tolvaddon Road.
· Trevenson Park North . This is a redevelopment of the former site of the Camborne School of Mines and proposal will provide new housing, space for new businesses, student residences and car parking.
English Partnerships' staff, planning experts and representatives from CPR Regeneration, will be on hand to answer questions, explain the detailed plans and receive comments and feedback.
'Previous consultations with local residents have produced very positive and important information,' said David Warburton, Area Director for English Partnerships in the South West. 'Our strategic approach to the regeneration of Pool and community consultation has received strong support and we look forward to this continuing'.
'We are keen for comment on this next stage of the project and want to know what people think and how they would like to see the site developed.
'I hope that as many local people as possible will take the opportunity to visit the exhibition.'
The Trevenson Gateway proposal is for mixed-use development including offices, a hotel and apartments on land at the junction of Trevenson Road and Tolvaddon Road to create a prominent new business centre for Pool.
Trevenson Park North will involve the redevelopment of the site of the former Camborne School of Mines and will seek to provide new homes, business space, student residences and car parking for Cornwall College. The scheme will also include landscaped open space and pedestrian and cycle links through to the college and Trevenson Road.
