Three local businesses based at the Pool Innovation Centre (PIC) have been recognised at the Hub Awards 2010. The Hub is a social business network created and run to support the business leaders of tomorrow.
Tom Telford, founder of 3WhiteHats, won best business start up. Tom said, "There was such great competition for this award, I'm really proud to have won. It is hard work setting up your own business, but it's so rewarding to see it take off and grow successfully."
Emily Anderson, of Sideways Cornwall, won best contribution to the Hub. Emily said, "The Hub is a superb business community full of vibrant and dynamic people and I am delighted that they feel I have made such a positive contribution."
Shelley Fletcher of Firegrass Communications was also nominated for best business start up.
All three businesses are located at the PIC, Bernard Curren who is the Director of the PIC, said, "These awards showed that West Cornwall has plenty of up and coming young entrepreneurs who are really beginning to make their mark. Pool Innovation Centre is delighted to be able to offer the kind of high quality office and business support that such entrepreneurs need."
