Success for Local Training Scheme

CPR Regeneration's programme to support businesses in the Camborne, Pool, and Redruth area (TR14, 15, 16 postcodes) to develop the skills of their staff has successfully completed its sign-up phase.

The project is funded by the Skills Funding Agency and European Social Fund (EU Convergence funding) and delivered via the Learning Partnership for Cornwall & The Isles of Scilly.  It has enabled CPR Regeneration to offer financial support to businesses investing in training.  Around £500,000 has been made available for training across the area.

The results at this stage are:
.  Over 140 local companies supported (ranging in size from self employed individuals to large companies employing several hundred people)
.  Over 1000 local employees supported
.  Nearly 2000 individual places on training courses supported
.  Over 130 learners have started on an NVQ qualification at either level 2 or 3
.  Nearly 200 learners have started on a Skills for Life (literacy or numeracy) training course

Over the coming months CPR Regeneration will be working closely with training providers to ensure that the remaining learners are fully supported until they complete their training courses.
