Seven people from local businesses have achieved excellent results in Level 3 certificates in Supervising Food Safety in Catering. They also all passed the Adult Numeracy test at Level 2.
For their businesses the Level 3 certificates are an important achievement and the learners came from local companies Furniss, Gwel an Mor, Anson Care, Tricky's and Tehidy Park Golf Club. By going above and beyond the Level 2 award the companies can show customers that they are achieving a very high level of care and can offer security that their staff have the right training to ensure that food is produced to the highest standards.
The successful learners collected their certificates on 10 November at the Berlewen Building in Pool.
The training was also a good example of partnership working with the numeracy training being provided by Skills for Business and the food safety training coming from Ashes Training.
Colin Bunker, from Furniss, who was one of those on the course, commented, "It was a challenging and enjoyable training course, which has helped to expand my skills and which will have a very positive effect on our business."
