A new weekly Farmers' Market is being launched in Redruth on Friday June 20th.
Traders from across the area will be setting up their stalls at Market Place, which is situated under Redruth clock tower.
A selection of local producers are already signed up and will be offering fresh fruit and vegetables, local meat, speciality bread and homemade cakes.
As well as the great food there will also be also be a selection of stalls selling plants, unique wooden products, pottery and books.
Markets in Redruth date back to 1333 when the town was granted its charter permitting a weekly market and annual fair. The new weekly Farmers' Market will bring the traditional market town atmosphere back to Redruth.
Stuart Allen, Redruth Town Market manager said that there has been a great deal of interest in the new weekly market and a number of traders have already signed up.
"A real variety of local traders have already signed up and at a time when buying local has never been more prominent we're really encouraging people to come along.
"The stalls will start trading at 9am on Friday 20th June and from every Friday thereafter."
Matt Powell, Business Growth Manager at CPR Regeneration, the urban regeneration company for Camborne, Pool and Redruth, works closely with local retailers and other businesses in the area and says the new weekly market offers another incentive to visit the town.
He said: "The weekly market is all about showing off what great local traders we have and with the recent improvements to the town and with the high fuel prices what better time to shop closer to home."
Over the last three years the South West of England Regional Development Agency and national regeneration agency English Partnerships have invested £5 million in Redruth and Camborne town centres to make them more attractive and welcoming for residents, visitors and businesses.
And in November last year Redruth scooped a gold award in the Town Centre Improvement Awards run by the British Council of Shopping Centres, beating entries from 20 other towns and cities across the UK.
