A new website promoting Redruth as a great place to live, work, visit and shop has just gone live.
The Redruth & District Chamber of Commerce has relaunched its website with a fresh new look including news, information and a full business directory.
The site has been designed by Redruth IT company Sweet Chilli Media. A new monthly newsletter, the Redruth Flyer, is also planned and will be distributed in hard copy to all businesses in the Redruth town district area, with an email version available to subscribers via the website.
Mary Anson, Chair of Redruth Chamber said: "There has been a lot of investment in the town centre in recent years and we felt that the old website needed to be updated to promote everything that the town has to offer.
"It is a great resource not just for chamber members and other businesses, but also for local residents and visitors to the town. And with the annual Murdoch Day celebrations happening on June 14, when we hope to see thousands of people in the town centre, the relaunch could not have come at a better time."
The website includes sections for visitors and Chamber members, local news and events, photographs of the town centre, a business directory and an online discussion forum.
Matt Powell, Business Growth Manager at CPR Regeneration, the urban regeneration company for Camborne, Pool and Redruth, works closely with local retailers and other businesses in the area and has welcomed the new site.
He said: "With so much going on in Redruth and the recent improvements to the town centre this website is a great shop window for the area. It promotes Redruth to potential new retailers and showcases the wide range of businesses available to local people on their doorstep.
"And with the recent hikes in fuel prices more and more people will be looking to do their shopping closer to home."
Over the last three years the South West of England Regional Development Agency and national regeneration agency English Partnerships have invested £5 million in Redruth and Camborne town centres to make them more attractive and welcoming for residents, visitors and businesses.
And in November last year Redruth scooped a gold award in the Town Centre Improvement Awards run by the British Council of Shopping Centres, beating entries from 20 other towns and cities across the UK.
The Redruth & District Chamber of Commerce is the oldest Chamber in Cornwall. For more information on joining the Chamber and other upcoming events in the town see www.redruthchamber.co.uk.
