Camborne and Redruth's multi million pound investment celebrated

The multi-million pound investment in improving public areas in Camborne and Redruth is being celebrated this week (Friday June 27.)

To mark the end of the three-year Public Realm funding, a day of celebration will take place in both towns.

People from across the local area are being encouraged to come along and be part of the day's celebrations.

A short presentation will start proceedings in each town, followed by performing and singing from local school children.

The celebrations will start In Camborne, where from 10am Commercial Square will become a bustling hive of activity with a packed programme including the following:

. 10am-11am Local school children performing and singing
. 11am-11:15am  Camborne Opening Ceremony
. 11:15am-11:45am Performance by the TR14ers (exhibition and refreshments)
The celebrations in Redruth will take place in the afternoon from 1pm until 3pm. 

Once again the festival atmosphere will be present as the town centre is expected to fill with people, music and entertainment as the schedule gets underway:

. 1pm-1:15pm Redruth opening ceremony by Redruth's town Mayor, Cllr Barbara Ellenbroek at Tatie Court, Lower Fore Street
. 2:15pm-2:30pm Performance by Trewirgie School Choir in St Rumons Garden.

Carolyn Rule, Kerrier District Council's portfolio holder for economic development and community regeneration, said: "It has been a great partnership effort to achieve what you will see, between the people of Camborne and Redruth.

Carolyn added: "It will be pleasing that the young people will be entertaining us on Friday June 27th as they are what we are all working for, investing in their future, whilst celebrating the historic pasts of both these fine towns."
