A further group of local business people from the Camborne, Pool and Redruth area have been awarded nationally recognised certificates in Team Leading thanks to CPR Skills.
The funded project was set up last year to provide local people and businesses with tailor-made staff development plans. The programme, created by CPR Regeneration, aims to meet training needs by funding and co-ordinating training to help support local businesses.
Eight delegates from across the area have successfully completed the customised Team Leader training programme, which is based upon the Institute of Leadership and Management's Team
Leader qualifications.
The course, which is designed to improve performance in the workplace for those with team leading or co-ordinating responsibilities, combines intense classroom learning with
work-based training over a three month period. Earlier in the year nine other business people from across the CPR area also gained the same qualification.
Mervyn Smallwood, Workforce Development Co-ordinator at CPR Skills, said: "CPR skills aims to assist the development of people and businesses in and around the Camborne, Pool and
Redruth area.
"CPR Skills has enabled a further eight local people to gain a recognised qualification that will undoubtedly benefit both them and the businesses they work for."
Anson Care Services based in Redruth was one of the companies that sent staff to attend the Team Leading programme.
Mary Anson, Managing Partner of Anson Care Services said: "The training through CPR Skills has enabled one of our employees to improve her skills and this is very evident in her approach to the job. She has been able to use her new skills in a very positive way to the benefit of our staff team and the organisation."
Nigel Tipple, Chief Executive of CPR Regeneration, the urban regeneration company for Camborne, Pool and Redruth, said: "It was great to present the certificates to these local people who CPR Regeneration are proud to support.
"By working closely with local businesses and identifying training and development needs, CPR Skills aims to develop capabilities in the work place and help employees increase their value through accredited training programmes."
The programme is funded through the Cornwall Works programme.
Carolyn Webster, Outcome Lead for Cornwall Works said: "Cornwall Works is about adding value to current welfare to work and workforce development activity and we have been
delighted with the outcomes that CPR Skills have achieved with the funding we were able to provide."
CPR Regeneration is looking to increase significantly the level of financial support given to local businesses for staff training in the coming year.
