Dudnance Lane plans to go on show

Plans to transform 78 acres of land either side of Dudnance Lane in Pool for leisure, health and active recreational uses will be unveiled for full public consultation from this weekend and will tour the area with five staffed exhibitions.

CPR Regeneration, the urban regeneration company for Camborne, Pool and Redruth, has been working with local councils, sports groups, health experts and the wider community to look at a variety of options for the land.

Three possible options will be on display, all centred around sport, active recreation, health and well being. The events, all of which will be staffed by members of the project team who will be on hand to answer questions, will be held on:

Saturday, July 21, Carn Brea Leisure Centre, 10am to 4pm
Sunday July 22, Carn Brea Leisure Centre, 10am to 4pm
Friday July 27, The Hub Club, Carn Brea Leisure Centre, 10am to 7pm
Saturday July 28, Tesco, Pool, 10am to 4pm
Sunday July 29, Pool Market, 10am to 4pm

There will be an exhibition on permanent display at Carn Brea Leisure Centre until August 10, and a document setting out the options being considered will also be available to view at Carn Brea Parish, Camborne Town Council, Kerrier District Council and Redruth Town Council offices until August 10th.

All the options being considered, including exhibition boards and a feedback form will all also be on CPR Regeneration's website from Friday, July 20 at www.cprregeneration.co.uk.

Nigel Tipple, chief executive of CPR Regeneration, said: "We've looked at a range of possibilities for this land all centred on our core vision of sport, active recreation, health and well being. The three options all include a replacement for Carn Brea Leisure Centre with a modern, expanded facility, and a combined health centre to serve the local community."

Called the Dudnance Lane Implementation Plan (DLIP), the project is consistent with Kerrier's emerging Area Action Plan and complements the integrated plan prepared for the Trevenson Road area, which has already been endorsed by Kerrier councillors.

DLIP will also extend Kerrier's Heartlands Park project, which is focused around Robinson's Shaft and is the subject of a Big Lottery funding bid, by providing green space to the west of Dudnance Lane.
