Development Sites Come to Market

A number of sites within the Camborne, Pool and Redruth area are to be brought to the market as part of a planned disposal programme in the area for South West RDA (Regional Development Agency) and CPR Regeneration.

International Property Consultants, King Sturge, have been appointed by CPR Regeneration, the urban regeneration company for Camborne, Pool and Redruth, as marketing agents for the sites.

The sites include approximately 24 acres at Phase II of Tolvaddon Energy Park; two acres on Cardrew Industrial Estate, two acres off Dudnance Lane; 0.6 acres on Treleigh Industrial Estate and; the former Plumbase building on Chapel Street East in Redruth.

Tim Western of King Sturge commented, 'These properties provide the opportunity to attract further investment into the Camborne, Pool and Redruth district. Each of the five sites is different in its nature and will suit either owner occupiers or developer/investors. Our marketing campaign will target national, regional and local companies and investors, and provide the opportunity in appropriate cases to utilise Convergence European Regional Development Fund investment until 2013.'

Bill Radmore, Investment Director at CPR Regeneration said, 'It is great to see these sites coming to market.  Work is now complete on improving the access and capacity of the Pool/Tolvaddon A30 interchange to provide unrivalled trunk road access to sites at both Tolvaddon and Dudnance Lane. This together with the £12 million Pool Innovation Centre opening in July means the area is now set to extend its importance as a prime commercial location within Cornwall that is already home to some 2,600 businesses, making this an ideal opportunity for private sector investors to develop these sites.'

Richard Keen, Development Manager at the South West RDA, said: 'The sale of these sites is part of our strategy to encourage the comprehensive regeneration of Camborne, Pool and Redruth by bringing forward development in a planned rather than a piecemeal way. These sites are being marketed for employment use which means they will provide opportunities for job creation in the future.'

CPR Regeneration aims to create a new sustainable community in Camborne, Pool and Redruth where the economic, social and environmental needs of the community are met, both now and for future generations.
